With usage numbers like that, why should web designers and app makers focus on anything else? There are no other tablets. There’s only the iPad.

Apple just released a new Podcast app for iOs and it is a thing of beauty. Finally, real audio and video podcast management and discovery, along with a really cool radio station feature which creates seamless “stations” of their top content.

Out of the ruins of Microsoft’s Courier project, a group of developers have made the iPad exclusive Paper. This introduction video is one of the best I’ve seen for an app, maybe tied with the one twitter used to announce the new twitter. As a constant doodler, it made me download the app immediately and I imagine could even get a person to buy an iPad from it. Here is The Verge review.

It has been the strangest problem finding high enough resolution pictures to use as a wallpaper on the new iPad. Props to Colin for finding the perfect solution, this nighttime view of New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia, and DC from the ISS. My lock screen is also the 2012 Blue Marble (the highest res picture of earth ever taken). Go earth!

I’ve been loving the trend of people posting what is in their bag, but I think nothing shows what is going on in your life right now better than what is on your desk. My desk is basically my brain in physical form. On My Desk Today (from left):
- iPad - I just bought the new iPad, so I need to back-up and wipe this one before I hand it off to my brother next week. It served me very very well in its two years of service.
- Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic: War - so happy this series is back after a year’s hiatus. No doubt they brought it back to cash in on the popularity The Old Republic game (which two months in, I am still playing like crazy). The KOTOR guys make George Lucas look like a preschooler in storytelling.
- Hunger Games - Still reading begrudgingly, but I will currently say Suzanne Collins is a much better writer than Stephanie Meyer
- Pogo Sketch for iPhone/iPad - Draw Something is now sucking up wayyy too much of my free time and a stylus makes it so much easier to play, so this thing is always close by now.
- Bagel Smashery Coffee - Tried out a new one of the 7 billion places to get breakfast in Hoboken’s square mile. They put the bagels in a panini press. Interesting, but I’ll take my normal fluffy bagel any day.
- Wacom Bamboo Touch - Devoting most of this weekend to finishing this episode of Laughing Historically, so lots of drawing going on. So far, this is turning out to be the episode to watch.
